ABOUT

The Data Viz Idea Lab was created by the UC Davis Tobacco Control Evaluation Center (in collaboration with the School of Medicine Office of Research Evaluation Unit) to help public health advocates and researchers bring their data to life through clear, compelling visuals that tell a story.

We know that not everyone has the capacity or expertise to make data visualization a priority, and that’s where the Data Viz Idea Lab comes in. Our collection of ready-to-use templates are designed to save time, fill knowledge gaps, and share results that are both visually engaging and action-driven.

We drew inspiration from leaders in the field like Stephanie Evergreen, Ann Emery, Cole Nussbaumer, Stephen Few and others who have paved the way for better techniques to communicate data. We encourage you to check out their blogs, trainings, and courses for more ideas and inspiration.

Because our evaluation capacity-building center is funded by the California Tobacco Prevention Program (CTPP), our direct technical assistance is only available to CTPP-funded agencies.

If you have questions or want to learn more about how you can support the Data Viz Idea Lab, please contact the UC Davis Tobacco Control Evaluation Center at [email protected].
